PSK If you've been paying attention at this web site and have spent some time reading the immune system articles, then you know already that mushrooms enhance immune response. PSK is a mushroom extract that contains complex polysaccharides (like Anvirzel, above) that have demonstrated powerful anticancer activity in over 20 years of clinical use in Japan. There are over two hundred studies involving PSK. It is virtually non-toxic and readily bioavailable taken orally. Most of the studies involving PSK have been done in conjunction with conventional therapies, not instead of them. Survival rates while supplementing with PSK are three to five times greater when used to complement conventional therapies. Because of its widespread use in Japan, PSK is the largest selling anticancer supplement in the world. (Though Agaricus mushrooms are quickly catching up. 10/11/01) A month's supply can cost $135 per month. When used with chemotherapy, many of the side effects are softened or avoided.
