Omega-3 Oils (Essential
Fatty Acids) Dr Johanna Budwig writes books and travels the world
over lecturing on the benefits of flaxseed oil and, at the same time, deriding the
"pseudo" fats the food industry loves so much: hydrogenated and partially
hydrogenated. She enjoys pointing out that these "pseudo" fats are not water
soluble and, in addition to causing a host of problems, end up binding with muscle tissue
(especially in the heart) as fatty deposits. They end up blocking circulation, damage
heart action, inhibit cell renewal and impede the flow of blood and lymph fluids. Our
bodies show a measurable loss of electrical energy which is replenished only by adding
active lipids (fats) to the diet. So,
she has come up with a formula that not only replenishes the entire system improving
circulation as well as immune functions, but also prevents and fights cancer. It is a very
simple formula based upon the fact that lipids are water-soluble and free-flowing when
bound to protein. Her
formula: two tablespoons of flaxseed oil to a quarter cup of low fat cottage cheese (Dr
Budwig used a different milk product we don't get here in America, but low fat cottage
cheese is a perfect substitute). For our American tastes, you might want to add some apple
cider vinegar, lemon juice, kelp (as a salt replacement), and chop up come veggies
(carrots or celery) too. Once
the scientific community got a hold on her research, further studies began pouring in
touting the benefits of this simple recipe: anti-tumor activity, increased metabolism,
greatly boosted immune systems, reduced cholesterol levels, normalized blood pressure
levels, and the inhibition of cancer cell growth. There are many books on the market about Omega-3 oils,
but Budwig's are the best place to start: Cancer - A Fat Problem, The Death of
the Tumor, and probably her best, True Health Against Arteriosclerosis, Heart
Infarction & Cancer.
